Man Rescued from the River Hull after falling from North Bridge

Emergency Services rescued a man who fell from the North Bridge in the city centre.

A man had to be rescued from the River Hull earlier this month after falling from a bridge in the city centre. Emergency Services were called to the scene at 1am after reports the man had fallen from the bridge into the water. Fire and Coastguard teams were deployed to attend the scene whilst a coastguard helicopter was also launched to assist the situation.

The Team from Humber Fire and Rescue retrieved the casualty from the water after a 45 minute rescue operation.

A spokesman said “Four fire service personnel in dry suits used throw lines to help the casualty ashore. He was placed onto a hard stretcher and removed from water. Oxygen therapy was administered prior to him being conveyed to hospital.”
